No. We do not have a physical office in Glasgow. We serve the city through a national live-in chef bench plus visiting chefs from our Liverpool and Manchester teams for shorter placements. Booking and compliance paperwork runs from our Liverpool office. We would rather tell you this up front than fake a local presence to win a search-engine click.

For placements of four weeks or longer, we deploy chefs from our national bench who travel to Glasgow with accommodation provided by you or arranged by us. The chef stays on site or in nearby lodging for the duration of the booking, returns home between rotations, and is paid travel-inclusive day rates. This is the standard staffing model for hotels in the West End and country house venues outside the city, and it is more reliable than commuting a chef 3.5 hours each way for short shifts.

For planned bookings of two weeks or more, we confirm a named chef inside 48 hours of brief receipt. For emergency or same-day cover in Glasgow, the realistic window is 24 to 48 hours, because we do not hold a 2-hour central bench in Scotland yet. For very short notice, we will tell you on the call whether a placement is achievable in your timeframe rather than promising and missing.

Our chef bench reaches Glasgow City Centre, Merchant City, the West End (Hyde Park / Hillhead / Kelvinbridge), Finnieston, the East End (around Celtic Park and the Barrowlands), and the South Side (Pollokshields, Shawlands, Govanhill). For venues outside the city in Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire, or Ayrshire, ring us to confirm whether the bench can reach you on the day you need cover.

Every chef we send into a care home, school, or nursery setting holds Enhanced DBS with the relevant Barred List check before the first shift. Chefs for hospitality, contract catering, and event sites hold Right to Work and Level 2 Food Safety as a baseline, with DBS or PVG on request for regulated settings (Scotland uses PVG rather than DBS for protected adult work, and we hold the equivalent paperwork on chefs assigned to those settings). All Chefs Bay workers are employed on full PAYE. No umbrella companies, no self-employment workarounds.

Yes. Glasgow event coverage is a real use case for the live-in bench, because event clusters (TRNSMT in July, the SEC and OVO Hydro across the calendar, Hampden Park internationals, Celtic and Rangers cup runs) need 5-30 chefs for two-to-six week deployments.
